Vehicle wrap prep and care.

Before your install

• Wash the vehicle a day or two before, and let it dry completely.
• Skip wax, ceramic coating, polish, tire shine and silicone products for at least a week before. They stop the film from sticking.
• Fix chips, rust, dents and peeling clear coat. Film follows the surface underneath and can pull loose paint off later.
• Remove racks, ladder racks, bike carriers and aftermarket accessories you don’t want wrapped around.
• Take out anything you need from the vehicle; we may need access to doors and the cargo area.

The first 48 hours

• Keep it dry: no washing for at least 48 hours while the adhesive sets.
• Park in the shade or a garage when you can.
• Small bubbles often disappear in the sun over the first weeks. If one doesn’t, call us.

Washing

• Hand wash with a soft sponge and pH-neutral car soap.
• Rinse with low pressure; keep pressure washers at least 12 in away and never aim at edges or seams.
• Avoid brush car washes. Touchless washes are a better option when you can’t hand wash.
• Dry with a clean microfiber towel.

Things to avoid

• Wax, polish and abrasive cleaners, especially on matte and satin finishes
• Solvents, gasoline and harsh degreasers
• Scrapers and ice scrapers on the film
• Letting bird droppings, sap or bugs sit; clean them off quickly

Las Vegas sun

Roofs and hoods take the most heat and UV. Parking in shade or covered parking adds years to the film. A wrap-safe protective coating can help on horizontal surfaces.

Removal and updates

When it’s time for a change, a professional removal protects the paint underneath. New phone number or a service added? Lettering and partial graphics can often be updated without redoing the whole wrap.
